Artist/Client Agreement

PMA TATTOO is in the business of creating lasting artwork.

The last thing we want to do is keep a deposit and not create art with you!

To make certain we are on the same page, and this does not occur, please consider the following prior to agreeing to these terms by paying your deposit.

Drawings

When will I see my drawing?

No drawings or drafts are emailed or otherwise previewed to clients before their scheduled appointment time unless previously discussed and scheduled with the artist. The artist is able to accommodate drawing reviews according to their workload on a case by case basis. Please check dates to make certain you're available prior to booking.

NEW: FITTING APPOINTMENTS ARE OFFERED OUT OF COURTESY AND ACCORDING ARTIST’S AVAILABILITY. IF YOU RESCHEDULE AND/OR NO SHOW FOR A FITTING, YOU MAY BE CHARGED A CANCELATION FEE OF $60, A NEW DATE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE TO YOU.

Can I ask for drawing adjustments?

Definitely! We welcome your feedback in asking for line or design adjustments as we want you to love your tattoo <3 Clients agree to allow artists artistic license to design tattoos in their style. If you want a specific image, we ask that you be specific in your email consultation prior to booking to ensure that you are happy with the drawing prepared by our artist. Please review the artist’s portfolio to ensure that the artist works in your intended style.

If the tattoo concept is changed from the concept established in the initial consultation, or if the client requests so many changes that the design is dramatically different than the original artist concept, a new deposit will be required. If many changes are requested the day of your initial appointment, the tattoo session may need to be postponed to grant the artist appropriate time to adjust the design properly.

An example of changing the tattoo concept would be to add or remove major elements to the tattoo’s subject matter, or adding specifics not originally outlined in this initial consultation.

If you continue to reschedule or change your concept over two times, the artist may decline continuing to work together or require a new deposit amount to compensate for additional work hours.

How do touch ups work?

Touch ups are offered according to the artist’s pre-existing schedule and cannot be done until the client's tattoo has been fully healed. These touch ups are offered for free within a year of the final appointment date as a courtesy. If the client no-shows, or cancels without 72 hours of notice or exceeds a year from the final tattoo date, touch ups will no longer be offered for free and will be done at the expense of the client.
Send an email to pmatattoopgh@gmail.com to book for free touch up.

Deposits

What if I have to cancel?

Deposits are non-refundable, if you are uncertain about elements of your tattoo concept, feel free to take time and get back to us when you are ready. Not showing for your appointment date results in loss of your deposit. If you are over 30 minutes late for your appointment, you will be considered a no show and your deposit is void.

You are under no pressure to schedule today.

What if I have to reschedule?

72 hrs notice is required for all rescheduled appointments in order for the deposit to be transferred to the newly adjusted time. You and the artist are allowed to reschedule twice before the deposit is considered void. If the artist reschedules a third time, the deposit will be refunded to the client. If the client reschedules a third time, the deposit is void. In the event of an appointment cancellation without rescheduling, deposit is void.

If a client reschedules an appointment, depending on the artist's preexisting schedule, the client’s appointment may be postponed to the next booking season. Please triple check that the appointment date selected is clear and open for your appointment. Last minute reschedules have a serious effect on artist income, so please be certain to remember your appointment date.

Why a deposit?

Deposits are required to reserve an appointment slot. Deposits are meant to compensate the artist for the time needed to prepare prior to your scheduled appointment.

Payments

What will my tattoo cost?

Any changes to tattoo concepts throughout the design process may increase the cost of the final tattoo. Price estimates are based on the tattoo concepts established during this initial email consultation form and are subject to change.

How Does the Acuity Booking App System Work?

Shop minimum is $60. Full day booking for one client has a $400 minimum charge. Sara Eve charges $250/hr (no tips expected) for tattoo time, but does not charge for stencil, set up, tear down or drawing time. Clients pay for the time slot and we get as much tattoo done during that span of time. Feel free to share your budget. We can work with that if you tell us initially in your consultation.

Cover-ups/Reworks

Why don’t other tattooers approach cover ups?

We wanted to highlight some of the reasons why this is so to make certain that clients feel comfortable with this prior to beginning the tattoo cover up process.

  1. Cover ups and Reworks are highly experimental, each one is challenging.

  2. Making small changes (color, size, shape, texture, etc) can have a much larger effect when it comes to cover ups and reworks. Each small change may affect the time and cost or possibility of the cover up being effective

  3. Generally the larger the cover-up or rework tattoo is, the lighter the coloring in the tattoo can be due to the larger footprint.

  4. Turning colored tattoos into black and gray, cannot be totally ensured. This goes case by case.

  5. There is no guarantee your tattoo will be fully covered. It may take several layers, and multiple tattoo sessions. We will do our humanly best to make it as unnoticeable as possible.

Consent is very important on both sides <3  The artist and client are allowed to decline working together at any given point in time.

I confirm that I am over 18 years old & will show up, sober and fed, with a state issued photo id. (Reach out prior to booking if an accommodation needs to be made.)

Client agrees to communicate respectfully with the artist. Threats, harassment, lewd comments, foul language and shouting will not be tolerated when communicating with our staff. Times are hard for us all, let’s be kind to one another

Ask for clarification BEFORE paying deposit. By paying the deposit, we have agreed to these terms.
