Been wondering what PMA is up to? We’re reopened (by appointment only) but are also bringing on two new artists! Welcome to the team Frank (@tobequitefrank.x) and Nick (@leopardskinpill)!! We’re beyond excited to have two new artists joining us in the shop Wednesday-Sunday.

Nick focuses primarily in American traditional designs, and tends to keep away from realism, portraits, and Japanese inspired works. He has been a self-taught tattoo artist for 2 years, and prices his works by the piece. You can DM him or email at nicholasjnemetz@gmail.com to book!

Frank works primarily in blackwork and illustrative styles and stays away from American traditional, Japanese inspired, and realism/portraits. Frank started out at a self-taught tattoo artist in 2017, and prices by the piece. He would prefer that you do not send DMs to book, and instead email him at frnkee.x@gmail.com. There’s also a booking form link in their instagram bio!

PMA Tattoo reopened this past week as Allegheny County moved into Green Phase. Moving forward, we have new safety protocols which you can find on our instagram! We are also now appointment only, so email us at pmatattoopgh@gmail.com to book in! If you had an appointment during closures and have not been rescheduled, please reach out to us and we will get you all squared away.

Sara Eve’s been working hard holding down the shop while we’re all social distancing, even doing some community clean up projects and donating supplies to medical staff!

PMA Tattoo has decided to close in compliance with the Allegheny County call to close all non-essential businesses. Here at the shop, we are committed to keep people safe and healthy. Thank you for understanding that this is a hard but necessary step. Our hearts go out to those affected by this pandemic and hope y’all stay safe!

Owner Sara Eve Rivera took part in a botanical illustration course at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens this past year, where artists worked towards the opening of An Alphabet of Native Plants. Her painting of the Yellow Harlequin is featured on the exhibitions promotional postcard, check it out! An Alphabet of Native Plants opens April 3rd at 6PM in the Phipps Garden Center.

Thank you so much to everyone that donated to our holiday toy drive with the Zellous Hope Project! This holiday season, we received over 60 toy donations to be handed out to children in the McKees Rocks neighborhood. We are so grateful for our clients kindness and generosity, we are absolutely overwhelmed at the fantastic turn out! This week we received the first of our donations for our holiday toy drive organized by the Zellous Hope Project! Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by, got tattooed, and donated to the community :)

PMA Tattoo is teaming up with the Zellous Hope Project in their 7th season of hope to donate free toys to local youth during this holiday season. For a new gift donation ($10 value or higher), clients will receive $25 off an existing tattoo session OR a $25 gift card to be used within a year of your donation. Clients can give up to a maximum of 4 gifts. The deadline for all gifts and donations is December 14th, so please keep that in mind! We look forward to aiding the Zellous Hope Project in their annual holiday toy drive and we will see you soon!

In June, we had our very first art and wine crawl! It did so well it’s coming back around! All the businesses on our lovely home on Broadway Ave have been hard at work to bring you the Ringin’ in the Rocks Art and Wine Crawl. The event will be on October 18th; start at 6:00pm and finish around 9pm. The event is free and open to the public! We are so excited to give everyone a warm welcome to our lovely neighborhood filled with hidden treasures! You can begin your tour at Back Channel Woodworking, located at 831 Broadway ave, where, if you are 21+ you can gain access to the wine crawl portion of our event for a $5 donation. Then you can begin your tour through the local businesses or Broadway, filled to the brim with amazing bakeries, diners, and breweries. Make sure to follow @ringintherocks on Instagram to keep up to date with all of our amazing vendors and plans!

Two new artists are visiting PMA Tattoo this month!

We’re super excited to announce our very first guest spot in our new little shop home. Nixie Vly will be visiting on February 19th - 24th. If you’d like to book in with her, email her directly at nixie@nixietattoo.com.

Nixie specializes in traditional, bold, folksy, and witchy tattooing and some of their art can be seen below! You can see more of Nixie’s work on their instagram: @nixietattoo

We also have the lovely Lou visiting on select Friday’s throughout the upcoming months! Their first day in our shop home will be on February 8th!

A huge shout out to the folks over at JamxCreative (jamxcreative.com) for our brand new logo! We are so stoked to introduce it to you guys, and we figured the best way to show off our new design is on a new T-shirt!
You guys have been asking for more shirts, and of course we want to make all of you happy so we came up with this design. The shirt shown is ONE SHIRT which will have the logo on the back, and the front will be the small logo in the left upper chest area as pictured. 
These shirts will be $25 to be picked up in store, or $30 to be shipped anywhere in the USA. For PREORDERS, email us over at pmatattoopgh@gmail.com. Please include your name, the number of shirt(s) you’d like to purchase as well as what sizes. Also let us know if you can pick it up, and if not, where we should mail your shirts to! We will send you an invoice for payment after receiving your email. If you’d rather see the shirt in person, we will have extra shirts in the shop for purchase as well.

During the month of November, we will be relocating to our new permanent home at 637 Broadway Avenue in McKees Rocks! We are extremely excited for you all to check out the new space! It’s going to be so much larger than our current location, which means it’ll be much roomier and more comfortable for both clients and artists alike. We are definitely looking for a good candidate (or two :P) to join the fam, so keep your eyes out for any announcements about that! Artists, feel free to contact us if you’d like to meet up and chat about opportunities with our shop!  

Wooooo-ee, have we been keeping very busy over here at PMA! So busy in fact that we are currently scheduling tattoo appointments into Decemeber and January. We do still have a few open times available for consultations in our current location, so don’t hesitate to contact us to get one scheduled! We are so thankful for how busy you are all keeping us, and we appreciate all of your support. While we know and understand that December seems so far away, the new shop will be so much more enjoyable to be tattooed in! If you would like to be placed on our “in case of cancellation” list to be tattooed (in our current location) should an appointment become available due to a client cancellation, just let us know some general days and times that you would be able to come in, and we will contact you if something becomes available sooner.

Our email address and phone number will remain the same for ease of contact (pmatattoopgh@gmail.com, and 412-343-7900 respectively). We will make certain to post on our social media about the shop closing and reopening, as well as any pertinent updates that might be relevant. And, keep an eye out for an announcement about our shop warming party!

We are still working out the details about that, but it is going to be a rip roarin’ good time!

After many trying months, we finally sealed the deal! Sara Eve now owns 637 Broadway Avenue in McKees Rocks as the future permanent home of PMA Tattoo! There are so many folks who came together to help get PMA Tattoo into a forever home, so we want to take a minute to thank them. Shout out to Eric Vanistendael of Keller Williams Realty, Arthur Clinger or Bridgeway Capital, Vanessa at the Colonial Title Company, Jeb from the McKees Rocks CDC, Nick & Ashley from our future neighbors at Blackforge (!!!), and of course, all of YOU who contributed to our Kiva loan! We will have more information in the next week in regards to when you can expect our relocation, but for the next few months we are going to be sitting cozy in our current Dormont location with no interruption to previously scheduled appointments. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we move towards our pretty lil home sweet home!

We participated in an event called The Power of the Purchase, a week-long fundraiser through Planned Parenthood. We wanted to give a big THANK YOU to all the folks who purchased artwork so far to support this organization! We still have plenty of artwork available for purchase, and are continuing to donate our sales to Planned Parenthood through the end of the month, so no worries if you missed the week-long event!

Hello, there! 

Community activism is important for all of us here at PMA. We are so grateful for all the folks who are actively working to improve our collective existence on the level of the individual, the communal level, and the way in which both of those function in conjunction with our environment and all of its inhabitants. For this reason, we have decided to do a series of charitable donations over the next three months. We are still sorting out the details, but we're excited to share with you what we have so far! 

For the second week of March, we are partnering up with Planned Parenthood along with many other local businesses for the Power of the Purchase. Details are still forthcoming, so keep an eye out for an announcement coming up pretty soon! On April 16th, we will be doing $40 semicolon tattoos for Semicolon Project Day (100% of profits will be donated to this cause). We, along with folks all across the world, are thankful for founder Amy Bleuel's societal contributions, and remorseful for such a warm light to be extinguished. We look forward to working with this cause in her honor, and in honor of any and everyone who suffers from mental illness and suicidal thoughts. So proud of our pals at Onion Maiden who had a really big year last year! Onion Maiden is easily one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh. We've been regularly attending their pop-up brunches for quite some time, and couldn't be happier for them to have opened a restaurant so we can eat their delicious food ALL THE TIME! They have some of the best food you can find, and it's completely vegan! It's amazing. We had our 1 year shop anniversary at Onion Maiden, so it holds a very special place in all of our hearts here at PMA ♡. Last month our pals at Onion Maiden gave PMA the honor of getting cute matching onion tattoos done by Sara Eve! Thank you so much to Dingo, Elyse, and Brooks for letting PMA be a part of such a special tattoo! It was lovely having y'all in the shop. 

If you haven't already, get your butts down to Onion Maiden and check them out! They're located in Allentown at 639 E Warrington Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Their hours are Wednesday-Friday from 5pm-10pm, and on Saturdays from 10am-2pm and 5pm-10pm. You can also find some of their delicious baked goods for sale at Black Forge, Artisan Cafe, Lili Cafe, and Lilliput Cafe (all of which are awesome places you should definitely check out)!

Hello, loveliest of lovelies! Well, a new year has begun, and it has us here at PMA reflecting on this last one. 2017 was quite an eventful year for PMA Tattoo! So much has changed over the past 365 days, and we wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation with you all!

Our hero, Sara Eve, has done so much amazing work this year - from tattooing to making designs and having collaborations with local businesses and organizations like Girls Rock PGH, Trash to Thrash, Bantha Tea Bar, Wigle Whiskey, and SO many more <3!

The shop itself underwent a pretty snazzy transformation - with our beautiful new floors, and our handmade storefront (thanks, Derrick!), PMA is looking pretty darn spiffy going into 2018! Oh, and let's not forget about the espresso machine, because... yeah. We love it. We can't wait to see what this year holds for us all, but if last year is any indication, then we can expect some really exciting things this year! Lastly, we wanted to give a big ole' thank you to YOU! Our beautiful clients, and friends. Thank you for your continued trust and support.
